Public vs. Private School Experience | Homeschool
I share our homeschool experience through a public school, to a private school and back to a public school again. We have homeschooled with our local district and through the county. We've homeschooled with two private schools that provide minimal services. We've also homeschooled independently (which is through the private school system). Homeschooling in California has its perks! We are homeschooling using the charter school program. In California, you can homeschool through the private school system or through the public school system. When you homeschool through the private school, you pay money for supplies and services, but when you homeschool through the public school system, you get supplies, services and sometimes funding!

High School English Curriculum
When choosing English literature books for my 9th grader, I looked for ones with a historical theme, set in a time period we were studying or were American classics. That way, the books my son was reading for English complemented his US History studies. I chose a variety of books ranging in grade level from junior high through high school. There is a mix of classics, historic fiction and biographies ranging in time period from the 1700's to the 1900's. I don't expect my son to complete this...

I knew we weren't going to get through all the history units we planned, but by this point, I certainly expected to get through more. We didn't complete all our units in part because I kept adding to them and in part because I overpacked these units to begin with. No worries. I'll just carry over these units into the following year and pick them back up in the winter.

Homeschool Room Organization
Check out this video from December 2015!! It's all about organization in your school room. You can organize by grade, subject, theme, type, product or publisher. I'll show you a couple ways to organize your thematic units or unit studies. I don't separate my curriculum by grade except for my Waldorf curriculum which takes up a small space. Homeschool Schedule For Multiple Grades
