Professionals protect the systems which support them. We are forced into a one size fits all system rather than embracing diversity. Hitler banned home schooling so on that basis we should all try to home school. Just because someone is called a professional and has letters after their name, it does not mean they are best placed. Who knows the children best if not the parents? I learned as much at home as at school, many of the children were so badly behaved, learning was difficult at best.
