The Homeschool Mother's Journal | The Traveling Praters

In my life this week… I feel like I’m finally getting back on track after our surprise move. I also miss some of the “luxuries” that I’d become accustomed to in a larger city- like grocery stores that don’t close at 10:00pm or the amazing thrift stores that were minutes away. Getting used to small town living once...

Homeschool: Balancing More Than One Child

Well, it’s Day 3 for these newbie homeschoolers.  I’m wondering what I got myself into.

Actually, school with Anthony has been fine.  He’s so enthusiastic and we’ve only encountered one major melt down.  I’ve only heard him wish for “real school” a few times.  My stresses lie with setting up lessons and keeping the twins entertained while I work with Anthony.

Doing lessons with Anthony is very hands on.  He’s only in 1st grade, after all.  I need to be with him to keep him...

Homeschooling Gifted and Advanced Learners: A Review and Giveaway

As homeschoolers, we don't often label our children gifted or advanced but strive to meet them where they are academically. This means a little extra attention to finding great resources that allow for thinking and learning that are on a level with our child's ability and interests. Whether we like it or not, children will let us know when things do not fit right, especially when it comes to academics. With my four children, I...

Tips for Home schooling Multi-Aged Children: Printable Worksheets ...

Preschoolers, with their inquisitive minds and insatiable appetite for getting into things, are many home school moms' biggest challenge. When all else fails, she has a coloring book of somewhat educational (and lots of fun) pages to color to keep her occupied while I help my older children. Here I've listed my picks...

Homeschool Testing is an Appropriate Way to Measure Progress and Get Ready for College
