Homeschooling in the Summer

Is homeschooling in the summer really necessary? That is quite a loaded question. Chances are, you probably stand in one of two places on this issue, or somewhere in between. On the other end of the spectrum are those people who do absolutely no formal schooling during the summer. You are probably somewhere in...

Written by Beth Corcoran, Contributing Writer

When I tell people that we homeschool year round, I usually get one of two responses.  I often hear from homeschooling families, “Oh, we try to do that, too.”  And then I often hear, “Why on earth would you do that to yourself and your poor kids?”

Day by Day, at home, away: New MN Homeschool Law

This was the first year we were required to turn in paperwork to our school superintendent for homeschooling because Lamb 1 is now 7 years old. Last year I looked at the law and figured out in my mind what we needed to gather-copy of parent college diploma, calendar we would use, etc.
